Having an MCS approved product and installation is also one of the eligibility criteria for the Government’s financial incentives, such as the Renewable Heating Incentive, or RHI.
At the Reina Group we offer two different types of heat pump system: ground source heat pumps and air source heat pumps. Each works similarly, using the technology that is used in refrigerators to remove warm air from the inside of the fridge. You might have noticed that the back of a fridge gets hot. Heat pump systems work in reverse, creating heat from the ambient air and ground temperatures. Air source heat pumps are installed outside your property because the fan, which draws in air, within the pump generates some noise. Ground source heat pumps can be located indoors. The warmth is extracted from the ground using many meters of liquid filled tubing that is installed underground. Heat pumps connect your wet central heating system to heat your home via radiators or underfloor heating, and provide hot water. We can also supply air-to-air heat pumps, which pump out hot air to heat your home. These pumps can be reversed in summer to provide cooling, but they cannot provide hot water.
Choosing to opt for an MCS heat pump is an important decision that requires substantial financial investment. Depending on your current circumstances, a heat pump could reduce your energy bills and pay for itself over time. In addition to supplying and installing heat pumps, we also offer a full design service, allowing you to get the most out of your new pump. The technology was developed in Scandinavia, where heat pump systems are very common, so you can be sure of their reliability and efficiency.
