Air source heat pumps extract heat from the ambient air to generate hot water and space heating. Ground source heat pumps extract warmth from the ground via fluid filled pipes, laid either vertically in boreholes or horizontally in trenches. We also install ‘open loop’ ground source heat pumps, which pump out ground water and pass it through a heat exchanger before returning it to the ground.

All of our MCS heat pumps work in a similar way to refrigerators, only in reverse. They provide both space heating and hot water, connecting to your wet central heating system in order to heat either radiators, underfloor heating or a combination of both. Heat pumps can either replace your existing boiler, work in tandem with or be used instead of less efficient (and more costly) methods of heating, such as electric heating.

Heat pump systems use energy from renewable and natural sources, meaning the pumps have a low carbon footprint. Even though each of our MCS heat pumps requires electricity to operate, they are very efficient and generate more heat than what is needed to run them.
