MCS Heat Pump Installations in Edenbridge
The Reina Group are accredited by the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) to supply and install heat pump systems. We offer heat pump installation services all over Kent, including Edenbridge. MCS heat pumps are built by those manufacturers that have also been given the stamp of approval by the MCS.
The Microgeneration Certification Scheme gives consumers additional protection should anything go wrong with their heat pump system or the installation. Using MCS heat pumps and suppliers forms part of the criteria for the government’s Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI). Heat pumps work most efficiently in well insulated, energy efficient homes, making them particularly suited to new build properties, although they can be retrofit into existing buildings.
Choosing heat pump technology over more conventional methods of space and water heating is the greener option. The heat extracted comes from the air and the ground, so is a renewable resource. The pump units do use electricity to run, however they create around 3-4 times more heat than the amount of energy they use, meaning that they are extremely efficient. Heat pumps can save you money on your fuels bills, especially if you are ‘off the grid’ for mains gas and would normally use convectional electric heaters or oil central heating. Edenbridge is set in the beautiful weald of Kent, where the most rural properties are not likely to be on mains gas.
There are two main types of MCS heat pumps to choose from, air source heat pumps and ground source heat pumps. Both work in a similar fashion, extracting low levels of warmth from either the air or ground and using reverse-refrigeration technology to convert this into hot water used for wet central heating systems, and hot water.
