What type of heat pumps have you priced for?
We have two variations of MCS heat pumps to choose from. These are either air source or ground source systems. Depending on which make & model you choose, the price may increase or decrease. There are also numerous other factors to consider when choosing your heat pump. For example, the price may also vary depending on which method of installation you choose or if you wish to combine a “cooling” option:
Ground source heat pumps are suitable for those with a large garden / paddock / field space, as they work by extracting heat from the ground via pipes. These pipes can be installed vertically in boreholes or horizontally in trenches. The borehole method is generally more expensive but “open loop” boreholes in certain parts of the South East can be highly economical, however the “trench” option although cheaper will require more space.
Air source heat pump units are fitted outside in an area that has unrestricted air flow. These heat pumps work by extracting heat from the air. These systems require a lot less space.
We can give our customers an indicative installation cost, however the final choice of make and model will increase/decrease this price slightly once a full heatloss calculation has been performed.
