The Reina Group is now a Kensa Gold partner
Kensa is the number one manufacturer and supplier of ground source heat pumps (GSHPs) in the UK. We are proud to announce that the Reina Group is now a Kensa Gold partner. This means we are approved installers for Kensa ground source heat pumps in the South East.
Kensa is a British manufacturing firm that has been engineering GSHPs for 15 years. Their MCS heat pumps are designed to be as efficient as possible to significantly reduce energy costs and CO2 emissions. Kensa and the Reina Group work together to deliver well-designed systems with optimum performance.
The Reina Group is an advocate of Kensa heat pumps because they fill a gap in the market that’s missed by many European brands. Many larger rural properties have a heat load requirement of more than 16kW but only have a single phase electrical supply. For most manufacturers this means they have to cascade two of their units to meet the demand, however Kensa can provide up to 24kW in a single unit. This saves customers thousands of pounds compared with other brands or having to pay to upgrade to a 3 phase electrical supply.
Kensa products range from GSHPs that fit under your kitchen sink to heavyweight pumps designed for use in commercial plant rooms. The smallest ground source heat pumps are within the Kensa shoebox range. These are the quietest, smallest and most innovative GSHPs on the market and are suitable for both individual installation and micro district heat networks such as those in apartment buildings.
Heat networks, or communal arrays, are a way of spreading the cost of installing ground source heat pumps. The borehole can be shared between two properties with individual pumps and meters. Using a communal array is a way to gain the non-domestic Renewable Heat Incentive on new build properties. The RHI payments could then be collected over 20 years. Such community heat networks are also being used in retrofit projects, such as in social housing schemes.
